BORN WITH A LOVE FOR CRAFTSMANSHIP

Originally from Verona, my early interest in all things musical eventually lead me to neighbouring Cremona, home to the prestigious Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Antonio Stradivari. Housed within their Scuola nationale di liutera, I went on to attain the highest possible accolade, il Tecnico di Liuteria (an internationally recognized Violin Making Diploma). During my time there I specialized in the following areas:

  • costruzione di strumenti ad arco moderni (construction of modern bowed instruments)
  • manutenzione e riparazione degli strumenti ad arco (maintenance and repair of bowed instruments)
  • costruzione di strumenti a pizzico (construction of plucked instruments)

I am equally adept at handling more traditional members of the String Family (violin, cello, bass etc) as well as less conventional stringed instruments including banjos, mandolins and ukuleles.…..and of course guitars and bass guitars of every possible kind!

“Somebody’s going to wake up and their job in life is going to be to make guitars. There are a lot of good, talented people.”

Paul Reed Smith

“Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind.”

Johannes Brahms

“Craftsmanship names an enduring, basic human impulse, the desire to do a job well for its own sake.”

Richard Sennett, The Craftsman
